Hello all,
I am new to the underground but I couldn't think of a better place to start. I am organizing a picket against Alamogordo's CYFD organization. I need people to help carry signs in front of their office during a weekday. I am serious. I have seen too many children have their lives wrongfully disrupted and ruined by CYFD. Many times it is not about the welfare of the children, but rather personal vendettas to boost their egos and bully the parents that they just don't like.
I want to do this soon. Shoot me an email if you are interested in joining me. This is going to happen within the next two weeks. Let me know if you are interested and feel free to send me your ideas or comments.
Regards,
Eric

The professionals at CYFD are educated and do have the best interest of the child at heart. They do everything they can to keep families together. If these "parents" put as much energy into parenting as they do complaining about CFYD than maybe CYFD would not get involved in their lives.
LOL!

I wouldn't consider people who return a child (who was beaten to a pulp at 3 weeks old) to a parent and who, within 2 weeks, is back in a full-body cast to be educated! Sometimes "keeping the family together" is not the most "educated" choice.
Wise up folks! The CYFD's obsession with "reunification" is ruining the lives of little children!
Jan, I totally agree. I was a foster parent in California and my hubby & I resigned for that very reason. They were about reunification regardless of anything else. The kids were moved from home to home, the foster parents were lied to, see they made more money each time the child was moved. We were given an infant (4 mos old-a definite drug baby) they said he wasn't. Mom had tried to kill him and there were 3 other kids in the home. They only removed the baby. Happened on a Saturday. That mom was given visitation the next week-go figure!
I would also like to comment that those in social care do not all have professional training. I knew someone who worked in the section that took kids away & she was a wreck for a mom and was going to school during the time she was also working. It was a joke.
I totally understand & agree. We have 2 cousins who use to be foster parents as well. They finally were able to adopt and won't be foster parents again. One of them had a little boy since he was 3 months old. When he was 2 they were going to adopt him,. instead the "state" decided all 5 siblings needed to be together and took him away from the only family he had ever known. It didn't last (mom had another baby, grandparents couldn't take anymore of the grandkids in, etc) They were finally able to adopt him but he has issues from the year he was ripped away & made to live with "strangers to him" all in the "reunification" of families process. That's one of many personal stories I know about. I wish I could picket, but I am working. I think it may be better to start a petition or even a class action lawsuit to bring about change.
This is a forum about opinions. Please do not "judge" us. We have a right to voice our opinion whether you agree with it or not. Implying we are not educated simply because we find fault with a government/state run program is immature. We are speaking from personal experience.
Nothing was said about uneducated - simply suggested that one should educate one self on issues before speaking up! Forum or not knowing what you are talking about always helps one understand things better. Talking about immature - okay!!
I would appreciate if no one will attack me as I care NOT to tell the story in open format for all to see but I will say this much
ALL the ppl that know me AGREE with me that I got messed over royally
there have been too many times i have seen where in my case the child(ren) should have been returned and in other cases the child(ren) should have NOT been returned. they are totally backwards.
I understand the agency and what the goals are. The morals and principles outlining this agency are not what they used to be. It does not take much education to become an CYFD employee, but I think the people hired should be educated in moral, ethical values, and hold the value of a family as their first priority, whats right, whats wrong. There are instances when abused children should be taken, on factual info, not fabricated info, I dont believe the interests are the children anymore, not all families are the same so there has to be variables, not personal opinions on whats best for the child. I believe this Dept destroys lives and should be terminated
All I can say is Wow, it is OK to have an opinion, I do not believe it shold be dis-banded, but yes they do need a complete over-haul. Do any of you remember baby Brianna? Had the CYDF done their job this 6mth old baby girl would never have been raped, tortured, starved, beaten in the 1st place. I agree the system isn't perfect, but if 1 child is prevented from the torture she went thru it is worth having. They should be more educated since it is children at stake.
I spoke with a man whose son works at CYFD and this man stated to me that his son said that even though some parents should be allowed to get their children back they have to follow guidelines. Where this is true anywhere you go to work the guidelines for CYFD need to be rethought out.
If you want to try and change your state run/funded agencies, take it to the top. Not enough people write letters and make phone calls to their legislators these days. The people who make the rules may not even know they need to be changed. The only way they find out is by the community letting them know.
I was in a bad situation and they adopted my children out without my knowledge.. ( because of the situation I was in) when i found out and spoke to the worker there my response was "well I wish we had known that!" but never did they allow me visitation with my children and now they are GONE to another state and I have not bee allow to speak or correspond in any manner with them. I cry myself to sleep and basically mourn daily over this.... and pray that when they are 18 they return back to me... i have 3 years for one and 8 for the other
now as far as my situation goes with CYFD the authorities where my children are at are opening an investigation on the ppl that have them ... another FOUL UP on CYFD! pray my boys are ok please.
it's weird I came across this the next day guess who at my house. they didn't even have nothing on me just what someone said. It sucks to be in these shoes. I work so I can't go outside the building and I don't want to get in trouble or them look at me more cuz of it but I hope you get your point across. hit me with email if you want to talk to me. I am in the shoes of wrongful accused. I just hope all works out later.traicia you should email me. we can be each other support.
i found out that CYFD will not interfere now because they adopted my children out. I also learned the ppl that adopted my children tried having a stop put to the investigation by having the DA interfere. so now its up to the feds, which means a prolonged investigation. Now im outta the loop on whats going on and I have been told i wont get a call for at least 2 weeks. I fear for my boys safety please pray for them everyone.
I totally agree with all who have sat on the other side of the fence with this organization, I currently am dealing with this agency and have educated myself on how legally and constitutionally, to go about handling the issues that this agency deems legal, there are alot of advocates, who can help and resources to educate persons on the legalities in dealing with this agency, I can say that in my case I am going to pursue action, and I know I will not rest until I do, my opinion its unconstitutional what these people do to families, remember anyone dealing with this agency your children have rights to, educate yourself on the 1st, 4th, and 14th amendments. Childrens lives depend on it.
