Lemme think?! Ahhhh, Ahhhh, Ahhhhh, Ahhhh. Sorry, no good food here to even say there's a fav. Maybe Doner Grill holds some promise.
Good Egg Roll. Only one way that's gonna happen here. And that is, by buying a good chinese cook book, (or maybe the library) and making your own, otherwise I can tell you of a good place about 1200 miles from here! lol Mark
I know it is not in Alamo.........but I ate at a Japanese steakhouse in Las Cruces with some friends a couple of weeks ago...........it was AMAZING!!! I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it is off of University Ave......it was one where they cook right in front of you, plus they have sushi.......it was expensive, but well worth the money!!!!!!!
My husband and I used to eat at Bamboo Garden all the time.....we really like it there. The Texas Club in Ruidoso is amazing and if you haven't discovered it......on 54 right before you get to El Paso is the Edge of Texas.......we were super impressed with their steaks! Sorry.....not too much good food in Alamo...I had to branch out.....lol
I don't know how much they charge......but they are the friendliest place in town and actually cook the food pretty much right in front of you........plus, it is relatively clean compared to some of the other crapholes in town........I was just mentioning my opinion!!!!
No that is not the Name, Christy we went to Cruces for our Anniversary and ate at that Japenese Steak House on University..Fabulous. I enjoyed the show as well. It is a locals hang out off the Beaten path..we will definatly return!
My favorite is Phat Phils. Odd hours and it isn't the best BBQ I've ever had but it is well worth the price. Ellis is such a sweetheart that I think I would eat there even if it was terrible. He is so kind and is always friendly.
The place Christy is talking about in Las Cruces is called Katana at 1001 E University Ave (near Keva Juice). It is definitely a "special occasion" restaurant but the experience is amazing and the food is great.
Jan, the U.P. is beautiful, as you already know from personal experience. And I really like going to Mackinac Island. We didn't stay at the Grand Hotel but snuck inside for a littel tour. I was so happy to see where "Somewhere in Time" had been filmed. It was beautiful. And I'm sorry to say I missed out on trying the local delicacy of Pasties. I would love to go back some day.
hi-d-ho they have the best food i think !! there meat is fresh not frozen patties like most these places. although its not really a sit in place the food is great

I saw the billboard to this one when we were in Las Cruces... its a teppen yaki sushi bar place ... I miss those, we came here from Japan ... ugh, the best sushi ever (Okinawa I mean)
As for Cloudcroft, BBQ is the food I like and Can't Stop Smokin' effin rocks!! Great food!!
Absolute top quality I've sampled is Stella Vita. They change the menu up week to week. It's pricey (~$30 a plate and up) but you will know where the money went.
If it's pricey D, then how can one justify where the money went? Isn't this sort of a contradiction.
No, I don't keep up with what they serve on a rotating menu, perhaps you can make mention of what type of dishes.
If they aren't something like Duck, Lobster, Steak, Prime Rib, but are Pork, Chicken, Shrimp, then how can one say "you will know where the money went?"
Unless you're referring that it went into the owner's pockets, then this I can understand. Mark
I ate at country kitchen once, I thought the breakfast was on the small side. Yes, the breakfast tasted good, but the eggs were awful small, and there must've been two tablespoons of hash browns. I never thought hash browns were so expensive to be so stingy with them?
And I ate at the Waffle House too once. The Bacon was so hard, I almost couldn't eat it, and the sausage links-patties that accompanied the breakfast were horrid.
Overall, I think I've had better dining experiences at Dennys. I know, that isn;t saying much, is it?
