The community is revolting, and we're electing new mods. Nominate and vote for those mods that you feel will be honest, fair, and good examples to the rest of our community. 

i just picked a few people i have seen on here in the past couple days. you have to approve your nominations. if anyone wants to be a mod or wants to nominate someone let me know. 

it looks like anyone can nominate people. just click on their names in a post they have made and you will have the option to nominate. 

Soooo how do you accept the nomination? Do we get a message thru here ??? 

when the person logs in and looks at the list where it says waiting up there they will have the option to click accept. 

oh, and it looks like i think 3 people have to nominate someone for them to run in the election. so if you agree to someone, click nominate next to their name at the top.

It's interesting that there must not have been a mod on here for over 9 months seeing as that is about when the last action was taken. And it does appear that we need one now. Remember regular posters to "flag comments" of inappropriate posts! 

flagging does nothing. all it does is alert the owners that their may be a problem. they never come check up. 

oh wow, i guess they changed the system to remove comments after a few flags. it used to be the moderators had to type in the kindly deleted thing. 

They must have automated some things once that last moderator left. 

The "El Rey" in the nominations above has not posted on this site for over a year now. "Rey" who is now in the nominations has been posting recently. Just some info. 

this system went into all the undergrounds. i think to get rid of the admin. 

i think rey nominated his old account el rey. they are the same person.

i dont think this is the voting yet. i think this just decides who can run as mod. we have never done this before so i guess we will find out tonight when nominations end.

Now what does that mean? Not sure how El Rey got nominated there ... I haven't used that account in a long time. However, I have been reading and watching here for a long time, and I rarely post. You ARE nominated...by me, because you seemed interested in your previous post. And you apparently accepted, so I don't get what the beef is? I had no idea that both "El Rey" and "Rey" were one and the same...you. And I did point out that you (Rey) have interacted recently but that "El Rey" had not.

And yes, I think that being an active member makes a difference in how well you will moderate. Why would you want a moderator who hasn't even posted in over a year? I don't think a moderator HAS to post, but I would think that you would want one who is fairly active and fairly familiar with the membership.

Also, I believe that anyone who wants to can nominate themselves. So same difference. Just some info again. 

Oh, no beef here, just didn't think your comment was necessary ... maybe I misread ... however, I hardly post on here, but I read a lot, and not putting my two cents in doesn't mean Im not "familiar" with the membership. Doesn't matter really what you think or what I think about whether a MOD should be actively posting or not, votes call the shots right now ... either way, I know who Im going to vote for, and no, it isn't for myself. Is there any way we are assured the person who gets this nomination does not end up being some weird STALKER kind of person? 

no, but mods cant see any personal info. basically the only thing they can do is delete posts. oh, and they can put trolls in the ice box. they do not have access to any info unless you publicly post it. 

What about private messages to others on this site? Someone once said that they believed one of the mods from the past was getting private messages sent between members and sending them to other members. Can they do that if unscrupulous?
