Has anybody else noticed the Right Out Back Steakhouse on Hwy 70? Any clue when it will be opening, I can't wait to have somewhere new to eat in town! 

it should be opening up soon i think like march or april... i cant wait this place needs a good steak house

richie says- my mom took my wife and i to the right out back steak house and the steaks were cooked perfect the way they were ordered and my meal was excelent also. we will for sure be going back there to eat. and Iam not saying all this because I have known the owner for a long time. a little on the pricey side but food was great

Wow maybe I ate at a totally different steakhouse than overpriced and the food was horrible. Out of four different orders three had to be sent back. My steak was cold and my baked potato was steaming hot. No the waitress did not stand there while I cut my steak, she didn't even ask if she could warm it up when I told her it was cold she said "yes the cooks are like that" and walked away. Never again. Too bad, was actually hoping we had something good there!!!!! 

As far as the owner - spoke to a woman who I was told was the owner and she was like "what would you like me to do". When she was told we would not return she stated "that's okay we don't force you to eat here". Well if their mentality doesn't change soon - they just may not force anyone to eat.

Seriously overpriced and the food was NOT good. It had no flavor whatsoever, I can eat better at other places in town and that is not saying much. We went on a weekday and they brought 5 orders out but mine. SO while everyone sat there with their food I didn't have mine. Nobody stood around to watch anyone cut into their meat. No one at our table is going back. 6 adults, all different background and ALL said they will not go back. SO sad cause I was looking forward to it being good. NOT RECOMMENDING IT to anyone but you can try it out for yourself, hopefully they will change by then. 

well it MAY probably survive either way. OWNER is well known and liked. (not the woman the guy) 

I'm afraid that I have know lots of places where the owners were well liked but the food was sub-par and the places had to close for lack of business. Even their best friends won't continue to pay for bad, overpriced food, particularly when it sounds like the owners don't have a handle on what's going on in their own kitchen. 

Thank You To ALL of the people who have come out and supported them. To those who have had so called bad Meals (which are few). Did you ever take the time to say anything (server/Manager). (I think Not )Out of over 25,000 - 30,000 people in this town. there are only 18 on here (couple double post) that had Neg. comments. So far so good. If your not Satisfied with the food please feel free to go to Apple B. Or Chile's for a real fake piece of meat or what they call steak. At least the steak house's steaks are cut fresh daily 

There's been a few on Alamogordo Topix that have also tried it and were not satisfied. I'll continue getting my steaks from Kansas City Steak Co. 

Oh Sorry 25 not 18. Thanks for keeping the Fields clean (KCS) Truck steaks (they come 2 U) so the other people can enjoy. If it were that bad then why would you have a waiting list when it can seat over a hundred people 

Kansas City Steaks are corn-fed beef, not hay or grass-fed, Huge difference in taste. 

What tie do you have with the owners of the steakhouse Cheryl? Especially that you know they have a waiting list and how many people the place seats (typically posted, I know, but whoever looks except the fire marshall). You seem to be taking people's posts very personally when this is an open forum and EVERYONE has the right to say what their personal experiences have been. And if you had read the posts, you would have seen that there were people who did complain to the owner and waiter/waitress with no gratification. You would also see that there are compliments. But you don't seem to mention those, you just sound like you want to tell the dissapointed to stop complaining. Well, they have every right to complain just as the others have every right to compliment. And I believe you said a while back that you were through with this forum, and I quote: I'm 10 years old and am more immature than some of the people that post on here/read these columns. I just can't deal with this anymore. I’m Also Leaving. Maybe once some people grow up, and stop being mature I might come back. I'm so glad that I had a dysfunctional family that taught wrong from Right. . I Can't Believe Sean is still in the Ice box for VENTING Most of which made no sense at all, particularly you stating that you were more "immature" than most people, and saying that maybe you would be back when some people "stop being mature". I think you need to look up definitions before you start using words about which you apparently know nothing. And you complained then about somebody being in the ice box for just venting, when that is all the people on this forum are doing. And yet you seem to want to bring them to task for doing so. That again makes me wonder what connection you have to the people who run/own the steakhouse. Now, feel free to "vent" all you want to as that is what this is for, that is if you are truly back to this "mature" forum. 

BamaFan what does it matter about the tie Cheryl may or may not have to the owners? and what does the other part where you quoted have to do with THIS subject. It talks of maturity and immaturity perhaps another separate post subject is in order? I do agree that EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion and should be able to post it here so dont get me wrong im NOT trying to ATTACK in anyway. just an observation i was pointing out. 

I have known for a while that Cheryl/Sean/Minimee over on Ridgecrest has a stake (lol) in the Steak House as she has been advertising for it for months. I have no desire to go there. For one, location is important to me and I don't find it romantic to be in the back of a used car lot. Second, I take people's experiences very seriously & I have only heard one person say they like the place, sorry Tricia. Third, I had such a bad experience with Cheryl that I would never go anywhere she recommends or has a part in. 

Tricia - it matters a lot what tie she has to the steakhouse when she gets on here and tries to trash people for having personal opinions about what THEY ate and THEY observed at the restaurant. To me that's an obvious indicator that she has some personal tie to it and therefore is not posting objectively about the situation and just wants to tell all negative posters how wrong they are. It would be one thing if she had posted how she personally liked the place and thought service was great, food was great, yadda, yadda, yadda, but she didn't. Her post was mainly all about the posts people made that were negative because of THEIR personal experiences at the place. Then she tells them to go to one of the other places in town and eat fake meat. The other part had nothing to do with "maturity" or "immaturity" really and had everyting to do with her stating that she was through with this forum (this was over 300 days ago, 10 months). So why come back and post now??? About a steakhouse??? Another indicator that she must have some personal tie to it. If so, then don't come on here and try to trash people who ate there and didn't like it. They have the right to say so just as the ones who like it have the right to say so. 

what are you saying sorry for christine? we didnt have bad service during our visit but to be quite honest we probly will more than likely not eat there again MOSTLY cuz of price and location...granted they own the car lot but sheesh comeon BEHIND it?? they coulda tried to put it near motel 6 or something.. NOW THERE would be some competition! .......well I myself don't have any ties with the owners however hubby worked for them and knows them quite well but we do respect other ppls experiences and opinion so we understand now bamafan. 

They built the steakhouse there because they own that land. The land by Motel 6 was sold to another developer.
