http://www.mesillavalleymaze.com/ They have a Pumpkin Festival on Oct 9-10 and Pecan Festival on Oct 30-31 (new this year). They have pumpkin patch, hay rides, corn maze, play area for kids (including trike maze and big slides), and contests during the festival. We have been taking our 4 year old son since he was 10 weeks old and it is always a lot of fun.
That sounds interesting Cathy. I'll place the link here so people can just click on it.
And it seems like I remember one of the churches in Alamogordo has a "pumpkin patch" in their parking lot every year. It's a little early yet but I'm sure the closer it gets we will see some announcements in the paper.
And I think that Cloudcroft usually has a Harvestfest towards the end of October with pumpkin carving and hay rides. I'm not sure about being able to purchase actual pumpkins up there though. And the Apple Festival is usually right before that in High Rolls.
You can't really buy pumpkins at Cloudcroft but you can buy pumpkins from the Mesilla Valley Maze or the grocery store and enter the pumpkin race at the Harvest festival in Cloudcroft. They usually start the race at 12 pm but we got there around that time last year and it was ending so I would call and find out more information if you are interested. undefined
