For a while now Furniture Mart has had signs in their windows and people on the streets with signs that said they were closing. Now all the signs are gone and it looks like it is back to business as normal. Does anyone know what is going on? 

Might be a marketing gimmick to get people to come in ... next summer they'll probably do it again. That's what I think anyway.

i think they do it every year. i can remember them doing it the last 5 years. not sure about before that. 

I was there when an executive man in a suit pulled up with 2 Police Officers. It sounded like they were declaring bankruptcy and they weren't allowing the creditor to take inventory. This was about 2 weeks ago. 

the owner got a divorce and wife was co owner so he liquidated his inventory and opening under another name so his ex doesn't get a percentage due to furniture mart name being part hers... 

we have lived here 8 years and they are always doing it. 

my husband an i went bak in the other day heir prices are higher now then they where to start off with! 

I bought a complete bedroom set from them & never will again. I paid $100 for my new nightstand. Went in there 6 months later & they had jacked the price up to $350 but would take $125 for a DAMAGED one.
