Looking for some reviews from folks who have bought the Sears Extended Warranty/Service Contract locally in Alamogordo. We just bought a Kenmore High Efficiency Washer & dryer from Sears & have 10 days to decide if we want to buy the Extended Warranty/Service Contract. These machines are all electronic now & that concerns me. The contract also gives yearly cleaning & preventative maintenance. Is there anyone out there who has bought this service contract who can share their experience as to whether or not it's worth going with? There are some things I will just NOT buy an extended service contract on because it is a waste of money. However, I'm inclined to go with this one. Any advice or sharing of your experience(s) would be appreciated.

We purchased an external freezer from Sears two years ago and it actually went out the other day. They are completely replacing it and we are getting a brand new freezer plus money for all our food that went bad. I would say definitely get the extended warranty! Thats just my opinion. I hope that helps.

I have had 7 rentals and I have bought every brand, also cheap-top of the line. Your appliances should come with a 1 year warranty. If you have no plans to move (&sell) than I would because I have had alot of expensive appliances go out within the first 2-3 years

I would buy the extended warranty because just as soon as you decide to not buy it something will go wrong with it, happens all the time. If you buy it at least you will have piece of mind that if something was to break on it, its all taken care of.

I would also recommend checking the consumer reports reviews on it. Before I buy something I check the reviews on it first. I don't personally have anything Kenmore...

Thanks everyone for your input & advice. I'll be going by Sears tomorrow to get the warranty on both appliances .... whether my husband likes it or not! LOL!
