Hi my name is Laura, I'm 23 and British. We just got here Saturday and once settled into my house I would love to start meeting new people. I have 2 Children. My son is 3 and my daughter is 1 1/2. I'd love for them to have more interaction with children their age.
Hi Laura! Welcome to Holloman! My name is Christy and we have two children with one on the way. I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and a 14 month old daughter and our next one arrives in April! We have been here 4 1/2 years. I started a playgroup on facebook called Holloman Hot Tamommies. You should join and come out and meet some of the ladies. It is an awesome group!
Hi Laura and Christy :) I'm still pretty new here and am also looking to meet other people, especially to let my 2 1/2 year old daughter play more. I'm going to go look for that facebook playgroup =)
Thanks I will take a look at it. I would love for my children to meet new friends. I will make sure to come by when everything is settled we are still in TLF at the minute. What is there to do around here? We came from a busy base in England and it just seems like a ghost town here.
Hi my name is Amanda I have a son that is 2 yrs old we can get the kids together anytime u want I try to get him out and socialize as much as possible becuase he's an only child. He plays well with others so no worries. An as for the town there isn't much to do there is a bouncing place in town we go to alot my son loves it but other then that theres the zoo that takes 5 mins to walk threw the park in the zoo is nice as long as you don't go when it's to hot. Well I hope that helped. O an if you like coffee I recamend hastings.
Amanda, I'd love to meet sometime. Maybe in a couple of weeks we can get together when I know my where abouts. I dont drive at the minute so its pretty hard to get around. Maybe we could meet at a park or something? Claudia and Jessica, If you would like to get together too me and my children would love to meet you.
Jessica and Laura- do you guys or are you guys looking to live on base? If either of you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask! On base activities- the pool, Kidsport, the movie theater, bowling alley, Soaring Heights splash park. Off base, as far as in town, there is not a lot to do, but my husband and I love to go up to Cloudcroft and Ruidoso and also to go to Las Cruces. Soaring Heights does occasional get togethers for the residents- they are hosting a garden show on March 5th from 1-5 at their building on base. Hope that helped a little. It is a small town--but if you get out and about, you can find things to do! This base is all about what you make of it!
We have just got a house on base. We move in on Monday. There doesn't sound a lot but it sounds like enough to keep the children busy which is the main thing.
That is good that you got a house on base. It isn't a lot, but it is a nice community for small children. You kinda just have to look for things to do!
We also live on base, it's quiet, which I like since our previous home on Kadena was very busy and noisy. Well, I take that back actually because I hate these sonic booms lol! I take my daughter on walks all the time and just down the road to the playground, there are playgrounds all over the base it seems, and she likes the one out in town by the train depot (also a nice activity that kids enjoy).
With our weather, you can find plenty of outdoor activities to do here. Hiking, horseback riding, off-roading, stargazing, geocaching, golfing, swimming, camping are just a few activities that I can think of off the top of my head.
Not many of those are toddler or baby friendly activities, but very good suggestions for date nights or mommy & daddy mini vacations lol. I miss the ocean!
You know what, you need to get kicked out of Holloman Underground, so freaking annoying, is there anything you have to say regarding this topic? Nah, doesn't look like it, so just stay away. OMG some people.......
Ha Ha, if I get kicked off here, I'll just show up somewhere else. Te He. Just a quick word about Barbara, you missies. She's a drunk a meth head, and the sister of a sex offender. One DUI, married to a former Marine. How he ever found her I'll never understand. He could have done better, even in Alamogordo. Her life is just sitting on her fat azz argueing with other posters on her computer.Posted that she knew where my missing dog was three years ago, admitted she lied, but never had a conscience about her lying. She's toning down lately a little, as her kid is now in High School, and she knows her name is mud all over Alamogordo, and the kids will make a laughing stock out of him when their parents tell them he's ths son of a meth head and all around troublemaker. Just want you young missies to know what to expect from here if you cross her. KARMA is nipping at her heels. It's already caugght up to one of her friends. So, beware of Karma Barb.It will be there when you least expect it. Ban away my friends, no worries. I will be somewhere else where she goes, if only to warn folk about what to expect. Au revoir.
Oh, I forgot. She likes to sneak over to Kids Kingdom and take pictures of your children. She tricked a couple of young mothers to go over there, and thats what she did. Dont let her co-erce you to go over there. If you do, be warned.
If you want to have a petty argument then I suggest you make your own discussion to do so. I made this to make friends not to read 2 GROWN women arguing. Its something I would expect from teenage girls. I don't want to hear about it and I am sure the rest of the people in this discussion don't either.
Hi, we just moved here from GA about a month ago and would love to start meeting ppl. I have two girls 4 1/2 and a 19month old Im a stay at home mother and trying to get use to the area but havent had any luck in meeting anyone yet. I hope to meet some of you in the future!
