Hi new to the area and my family will be soon to follow. My wife is a dance instructor and I am putting out a feeler to see what kind of interst there would be in the area for dancing. She teaches all styles of dance to include. line dance, 2-step, east and west coast swing, cha-cha etc.... she is highly knowledgable in all styles and competes professionaly in 3. So if you think this is something you would be intersted in either group or private lessons please respond and we can chat about it. Dancing is a great and fun way to get in or to stay in shape....Thank You 

I do not think there are any classes like these offered on or off base around here. I may be wrong, however. My daughter takes dance off base at the Academy of Ballet. She takes ballet, tap and jazz. From the Academy of Ballet website I think that the owner/teacher is looking for instructors, although I, of course, cannot speak for the owner. I don't know if your wife has training/experience in these areas.

Also, at this school, there is a woman who teaches adult belly dancing classes. So, there may be a possibility of your wife being able to teach the ballroom/Latin styles there. I, of course, again, cannot speak for the owner. This is just the only place that I know that has dance instruction, and it might be a place to start.

I would love to take actual line dancing classes. I think that would be a blast! 

NOT ON BASE!!!! jk i think it would be a fabulousidea to open a dance hall with a variety of dance including ball room dancing. I would put the word out and also attend, would put my teen boys in it as well. However, needs to be conveniet location to all of Tularosa Basin 

Hi. My wife and I have taken lessons for some years now from a variety of instructors. We have a group of "dancers" that like to meet up and go out dancing.

We also are always looking for more lesson opportunities. Over the past years there has been ballroom lessons at the Senior Center, Odd fellows Hall, Alamo Shape and currently there are Fox Trot lessons going on with Community Ed at NMSU-A with Cha-Cha scheduled to begin after spring break.

As a result our group has a large variety of skill levels and it is difficult to get group lessons to satisfy the group as a whole. If your wife would like to discuss more with us, we would be happy add our 2 cents. 

She may want to see if they are looking for somone to teach line dancing as a cardio class at the primer fitness. I don't know if they are looking but it is an idea!
