Well, I haven't heard anything on the news or read anything online yet as far as the shutdown goes, but remember that our commissary will close tonight at 1900 and if no agreement is reached they will remain closed until there is an agreement.

I was just there and a lot of people are freaking out and grabbing stuff off the shelves, but really, there is still Lowes and Walmart out there ... they aren't closing, so I don't see why people are panicking as if our only source for food is the comm. 

I don't think they're panicking just getting what they need. Some people only have 1 car and don't go into town much. Plus, there are some items/brands that the commissary carries that they don't carry at other stores, plus their fruit is way fresher & sweeter :)

I'm a bit nervous about the shutdown too, considering my husband is getting disability and neither one of us work...heard it will affect veterans disability. Crazy. Kind of makes me mad in a way their putting us through something like this. Anyways good luck to all that is effected and lets hope if it does happen, that it is not for long.
