I am so sick and tired of people being cowards and not knowing the facts before they SPEAK (send emails) I have my cat up for adoption as i am trying to find a home for her where she will get to have free roam in and out of the house as she desires and in winter months she wont have to be stuck to one room because she doesnt get along with dogs. yes the ad is worded as if she is the one looking as i think that "draws" people more. so this butthead sends me an email from shouldtofadopteditinthefirstplace@numnuts.com well we all know this is a fake email and thats what makes this person a coward PLUS the cat adopted us we didnt adopt her so they dont have their facts straight :

What you are trying to say is that "mommy" abuses you isn't it?
"mommy" should just eat the $20 and give me away to a good home and start trusting people. And also "mommys" storytelling in third person makes her and hubby sound creepy.

that accusation is incorrect as well. and im charging the 20 because i feel that she will be goin to a good home if the person is willing to pay a measly 20bux! ...

Anyways sorry I had to vent though thanks for listening (reading)

Actually cats should be kept indoors. The ones allowed outside are more likely to be run over, attacked by dogs, or infected with diseases such as FIV which runs rampant in certain neighborhoods in Alamogordo.

I have to agree with barbara on this one. growing up, we had a cat for 10 years. one day she got out and the neighbors dogs killed her.
I get so angry with my neighbors cats being at my house all day and fighting in my yard at night. the only time i could see making a cat "outdoor" is if it were a farm or ranch setting. (mouse control)

tricia --- 13 years ago -

she wants to be outdoors .... i never MADE her an outdoor cat and i suppose you would say to declaw her too! I dont think so! also before she "became" our cat she would cross Washington all the time and safely I have watched her and she was less than or right around 6 months of age at the time!. armed it sounds like your cat was used to being kept indoors when u were growing up and i have to ask did you have dogs as well that she DID get along with? cuz most of the time thats the case on why a cat would be attacked by a dog cuz the cat was raised around dogs and became trusting of dogs and that IS a lethal mistake with a LOT of cat owners. Barbara I will admit Im not sure what FIV is as you see Im more of a dog owner but I ask this is it possible there are some kind of vaccine out for that? however if it was something I really had to worry about im sure she would have gotten sick along time ago as we live relatively in the same area in which we lived when she decided to adopt us. So I dont think that is a factor in our area. and the only time she has "turned" to attack a dog is when she is in our yard and the dumb neighbors kids let there chihuahua which is the same size as her out and he comes in our yard and he now steers clear when he sees she is "home" either way Im trying to find a home where she can be indoors (which she would probly stay indoors more than out) as she can not do that here!

Barbara --- 13 years ago -

Nowhere did I say she should be declawed; I said she should live indoors. Just because she has made it acoss Washington safely before, it doesn't mean her luck won't run out.
Cats don't have to be outside to be happy. My Siamese has never touched the grass and doesn't know any difference.

Barbara --- 13 years ago -

FIV is Feline Immunodeficiency Virus..feline AIDS. There is also FELV (Feline Leukemia Virus) Both can be spread easily amongst unvaccinated cats.
Oh and yes, my cat does live with a dog.

Christine --- 13 years ago -

I have always kept my cats indoors. But there are times when they escape. They normally do that when they are less than a year old. My cats are all 2-3 years old and enjoy being inside for the most part. I lost too many cats to let them go outside. I did have a cat that was indoors (Joe) and he got sick and we let him outside & he got better. They know what they need and sometimes it's as simple as grass. I don't like declawing animals and have never done that because I always fear they may escape and have no defense. The only time my cats want outside now is when we are on vacation-they want to find us. Each cat like a child is different. You can't make them be someone or something they are not. If they prefer outside, you can't make them change. Some cats get along with dogs and some don't. Since my dogs are outside they don't get along with my cats. I hope you find a wonderful home for her :)

They sell cat grass in pots so you dont have to let your cats outdoors. Cats live longer lives when they live indoors only.

Barbara, I was thinking that but I was not sure. As I said I dont think I have to worry about that because I am sure she would have gotten sick already and she has been vaccinated just I got a year behind so she isnt up to date she got all her vaccinations when I braught her to the vet to get fixed. I fell behind because I have all the vaccinations to keep up to date on all my dogs. I would never declaw a cat not only is it their way to defend it is cruel and painful! And she needs to go to a good home where she can be inside a home where there ARE NO DOGS! I am a believer that dogs should be allowed roam in and out of the house into a properly fenced yard of course which is why i say Fuzzy needs to be in a dog free home. She will be so much happier and you never know when I do find the right place for her she may prefer to be indoors but I do know that when I hve had her in the house in our bedroom in the winter after about a week she gets what I call cabin fever and wants back out so when it starts to be a lil warmer during the day she wold be put outside and we bring her back in at night. This past year when we had that cold snap that came on so quickly she disappeared. she came back right towards the end of it and I noticed that one of the stray cats never returned but it was sickly looking and probly died because of the cold. We attract stray cats in the front of our home as we have food and water that is in endless supply out front and I really do not care to have to feed one or 2 more cats that do not belong to us even if they wont let us pet them. I just want fuzzy to go to a really good home where she can be perhaps even happier than she is with us because she will be able to be indoors.

well indoors when she desires or when the weather is bad and she wont have to be stuck in one room

Barbara --- 13 years ago -

Well I wish you good luck finding her a good home. Unfortunately there are far too many homeless cats all looking for owners.

Jessika --- 13 years ago -

On the "she crossed this street with no issue" type statement.

I had a cat for years who was inside/outside. He crossed Florida Ave by Indian Wells multiple times a day and was never hit. Then he was. Luck always runs out.

Since then, any cat I have has been indoor only and never suffered for it. One of my cats will act like she wants out, and if I carry her outside and let her sniff around, she ends up a wreck over it.

I do wish you luck finding a home for your cat though. Homes are hard to find, especially for adults. But really, good luck. I hope she finds a place.

Amanda --- 13 years ago -

I agree that if you charge something that the pet is more likely going to be taken vare of better!!!

tricia --- 13 years ago -

yes but it is easier to find a home for one cat than 4 dogs and 2 of my dogs couldnt be placed in other homes at all anyway. and I am glad someone understands the fee thing
